JUNE 2014 FORECAST
©2014 by Richard Nolle
last revised MAY 29, 2014

If you were expecting some kind of sun sign nonsense, forget about it. This is real astrology for the real world, not some mystical mumbo-jumbo psycho-babble word salad. If it's real astrology for yourself that you want, you can get it by phone or in print. And if you need help deciphering the astrological glyphs in the graphics accompanying this article, see Astroglyphs: Astrological Symbols Guide. Please note: this forecast is expressed in terms of Universal Time (UT, aka GMT). Also please be aware that, while I never change a forecast once it's published, I do post errata to acknowledge typographical errors and the like.

PLEASE NOTE: This month’s forecast incorporates elements of (and refers to) my complete 2014 World Forecast Highlights (41 8-1/2 x 11” illustrated pages), focused, amplified and elaborated with details for the month as appropriate. The full version of my 2014 World Forecast Highlights is available in hard copy by mail ($75) or as a PDF document by email ($50). JUN 13, 2014 Full Moon If you followed last month’s news after reading my May Forecast (published in April), you know to expect more of the same. Of course you’ll get the news in advance, as usual. But you’ll also quickly recognize, I think, that June is largely a continuation – in some cases, an intensification – of trends that carry over from May. But there are a few wrinkles in the time ahead.

Mars Max Amps Up

Take the Mars Max, for example: it started back on December 22, 2013, and lasts until August 9, 2014. That means, expect more of the same: "fires, crashes, clashes and explosions" galore (way bigger and way more than usual); a continued epidemic of murder and mayhem, from individuals on murder sprees to groups and nations waging war (civil as well as international). Lots of it will have a civil strife component: protests, riots, terrorism and revolution (and reactionary responses to same).

May was full of this ilk: Syria, Egypt, Turkey, Thailand, Vietnam, China, Brazil, Venezuela etc. Again, expect more of the same; most especially beginning with the Moon-Mars conjunction on the 8th, and continuing through the end of the month under the auspices of the lingering Mars T-Square to Uranus and Pluto. (Most intense, probably, around the full moon on the 13th and the Mars square to Pluto on the 14th, as well as the Mars-Uranus opposition on the 25th. Allow a few days either way in each case. As I’ve said many times, don’t make a fetish over exact dates. (There’s enough quantum flux in time that exact timing is an illusion at best – at worst, vanity.)

Full Moon Shock Window

JUN 19, 2014 Sun-Mercury Conjunction (Inferior) Speaking of that full moon, it’s a disturbance in more ways than one. A peak in human intensity, it surely is. This will manifest as edginess, recklessness, aggression and defensiveness, given that it coincides with a strong Mars Max component. Remember, this isn’t just in the sky. It’s also in each of us and in our lives. The aggressive, hasty, temperamental qualities coinciding with the full moon and the strong Mars Max won’t just be in the news; it will be in ourselves, our personal life, our daily routine. Get a grip, count to ten - particularly if you were born under significant planetary placements around 24° of the fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius) or 16° of the cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn). Check your chart!

At the same time all this Mars Max and full moon lunacy is happening, there’s also a Venus-Saturn opposition, which speaks of panic in the financial markets: people deciding to sell out of fear and greed. Either sell out and get to the sidelines ahead of it – say, around the 10th or 11th – or look for the security plays.

And then there’s the geophysical dimension of this full moon, in effect from the 15th into the 21st. The stress factor for this alignment is considerable for a number of reasons – including the fact that it so closely coincides with the inferior Mercury-Sun conjunction on the 19th. This particular full moon also falls close on the heels of the Moon’s south declination peak on the 13th, just a few days after the lunar perigee (closest approach to Earth) on the 15th, and just a day before the Moon’s northward crossing of the celestial equator on the 19th.

Add it all up, and you get easily the most hazardous geocosmic shock window of the month. That means, be on the lookout for an outbreak of strong storms with damaging winds and heavy precipitation (with subsequent flooding); for extreme tidal surges; and for a newsworthy increase in moderate to severe seismic activity (Magnitude 5+ quakes and notable volcanic eruptions – with the occasional tsunami warning).

Solar Storm Watch

Remember that the current Mercury Max cycle (May 25-July 12) is in effect for this full moon. In fact, one of its peak points occurs on the 19th of this month – the day of the inferior Sun-Mercury conjunction. This adds weight to the increased probability for storms that disrupt travel, communication and power infrastructure. Have a backup plan and if possible a backup power supply, and make sure your files are all properly backed up. And if traveling, having alternate routes and plans is highly advisable.

Bear in mind that peak points in the Mercury Max cycle (e.g. the Mercury retrograde station on the 7th 7th and the solar conjunction on the 19th) tend to coincide (plus or minus 2-3 days) with solar storms: X-Ray flares (in the M to X-class range) and Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs), as well as increased geomagnetic activity (Kp 5 and up). This is the kind of thing that at least makes for pretty lights in the sky (auroral excess); but it can also occasion power grid problems, radio interference, disruptions in satellite communications, etc . . . and fritzy glitches in the human nervous system, too.

Other Geocosmic Stress Windows

After the full moon, the most notable geocosmic stress window for June centers around the new moon on the 27th, close on the heels of the north lunar declination peak on the 26th. I figure this particular shock window extends from the 24th through the 30th: that’s the time span for an elevated risk of strong storms and moderate to severe seismic activity (M 5+ quakes, possible tsunamis, and newsworthy volcanic eruptions). There’s also a brief and relatively mild stress peak outside of these solar-lunar alignments; namely the Moon’s southward crossing of the celestial equator on the 6th (effective from the 5th through the 7th).

June looks relatively calm on the storm and seismic front, by the way. Things get much more dramatic in July, when the first of three full moon SuperMoons of 2014 occurs on the 12th. More about that later . . .
