I must apologize for this month’s forecast being both late and short. Regulars know that this is an unprecedented combination for me. But in my defense, I must confess that I have been blessed with more client work in the last few weeks than even a double-Capricorn can handle. December-January is always a busy time for us astrologers, but this is unprecedented in my long experience. (Thanks to my clients!) As a result, I have had to let freebies like this slide a bit. I’m already working on the February forecast, so as not to run late next month . . .
Time being short, I just want to take a moment to mention a few periods of elevated (but not extreme) risk for storms, moderate-to-severe earthquakes (Magnitude 5 and up), and volcanic eruptions this month: January 2-4 (the Moon’s southward crossing of the equator), the 8th through the 17th (the Moon’s southern declination extreme, the new moon and the northward lunar equatorial crossing; and the 22nd through the 30th (Moon at peak northern declination on the 23rd, plus the full moon on the 27th). My suspicion is that the early part of the month is the more active, seismically and meteorologically, being closer to Earth’s perihelion. Finally, note that Jupiter spends nearly the whole month within just a degree of its direct station on the 30th: from January 6 to February 24, actually. This is likely a sign of stasis in legal, political, educational and religious institutions: hardened positions, unwillingness to compromise principles. The logjams break up in February . . .
