OCT 23, 2006 - 2006 Transit of Mercury is NASA's take on next month's transit of Mercury across the solar disk. I've already dealt in some detail with the astrology of this transit, which is historic and promises an interesting month ahead. But it's also a sight to see in its own right, and you'll get an excellent preview at NASA's site, thanks to a fine animation. You'll also find detailed instructions on how and when to look for the transit when it occurs on November 8. (It should go without saying that attempting to watch any solar transit will result in permanent blindness, so be sure to review NASA's instructions for safe viewing.)
